About this bot and map

This project helps coordinate volunteers during wildfire response. The Telegram bot collects volunteers’ Live Locations and fire reports (optional description/attachment + pinned location). The shared map aggregates these data points and provides simple status voting.

Key points:

• Only the latest volunteer point per user is stored (max age 6 hours).
• Fire markers are shown only if Active votes are greater than Out votes.
• Links to Telegram messages work for public groups with @username.

How to add this bot to your group:

1. Make your group public (set a group @username) if you want report links to work from the map.
2. Add the bot by username to the group (Add members -> search by bot username).

Note:

Privacy Mode in @BotFather is managed by the bot owner and is applied globally. Group owners/admins don’t need to change it.

Required permissions:

• No admin rights are strictly required. The bot only needs to send and read messages.
• If your group uses Topics/Threads, ensure the bot is allowed to send messages in topics.
